Club Referee Course

Time : 6pm - 10pm 
Minimum Referee Belt Grade: 10th Mon/3rd Kyu
Minimum Referee Age: 12 years

This education module will cover all of the theoretical requirements for those candidates wishing to achieve the identified refereeing level or for others not wishing to become a referee who would like to improve their knowledge of the rules. The module will include practical examples for which attendees should bring their judogi in addition to normal clothing. The module is suitable for athletes and coaches with appropriate prior knowledge and will count as a coach revalidation for those coaches that pass the theoretical examination.

Cragside Challenge 2019

  After last year's fantastic weekend combining fitness & judo training, and a whole load of fun, we have decided to once again hold the Cragside Challenge.

Spaces were very limited, and as a result the course is now completely full!
We look forward to the weekend, and hope for some nice weather!

Format
The aim is to run a pool system, running categories in line with BJC requirements over 2 mat areas. In the event where cateogies are not filled the category may be amalgamated, changed or cancelled. Entries are restriced to 200. All primaries and juniors will receive an award.

Conditions of Entry
1. Entrants must hold a valid BJC, BJA or AJA License. These are to be produced on the day and MUST include a photograph and Date of Birth. 
2. Where dual licenses are held, competitors must enter under their highest grade held. 
3. One weigh in only. Only judo jacket is permitted to be removed. Coaches to accompany to weigh in.
4. Categories  may be combined in the case of insufficient numbers. 
5. BJC rules and technical restrictions apply:
- No Armlocks, chokes or strangles
- Any action deemed as dangerous or not in the spirit of judo may result in disqualification
- White judogi only (No shoulder flashes, no backpatches)
- Zoris at matside only
- No personal water matside - Water will be provided.

8th Birthday Presentation

Cost: £4 per person
Time: 2:00p - 4:00pm

​This year there is going to be a slight change for our 8th birthday presentation!

The presentation will be between 2pm and 4pm. This will be a consist of a load of fun first, in the form of bouncy castles galore, followed by a raffle with some fantastic prizes already donated, and finally the presentation of our awards! 

Bouncy castles will be as follows:
Bouncy castle and soft play set for under 8’s
Human Wrecking Ball knockout for all ages
20ft Bungee Run for all ages
Giant penalty shootout for all ages
Garden games (Giant Jenga & Giant Connect 4)
Sumo Suits (as went down so well at our last BBQ event!)

This is a joint venture between local BJA, BJC and Bushido Zazen clubs.
All students who register for the competition will be entered into a leaderboard and will collate points from all five grand prix eventsheld this year. All students will be invited to an end of year presentation in January 2019.

There are no armlocks, strangles, drop knee, or sacrifice throws permitted.

Female players must wear a plain white T-Shirt under their gi and will be allowed a 0.6kg allowance for weigh in, with boys allowed 0.5kg.
This event will be insured with MAGB and all competitiors are covered for up to £10million for member to member liability, regardless of their judo association membership. 
No club will be allowed more than 40 entries. 
Competitors will be added to the leaderboard and allocated to the club identified on their license.

Tyne Under 8, Junior and Senior Development Competition

Players will be placed in pools of 3, 4 or 5 competitors of similar age, weight and experience,
Players from the same club will be in different pools where possible. All competitors will receive a trophy.

There are no armlocks, strangles, drop knee, or sacrifice throws permitted.

Event B

In this event players will be seperated into pools of 3, 4 or 5 with competitors or similar age, weight and experience. Players from the same club will be seperated where possible. All competitors will receive a trophy.

No Drop Knee/Sacrifice Throws, Armlocks or Strangles or techniques similar to tomoe-nage or sumi-gaeshi.

Christmas Presentation

You must have a ticket to exchange it for food on the night. Tickets will be available nearer the event

We invite all judoka and family to aour Christmas Party and Presentation on the 8th December 2018 from 6.30pm at Newbiggin Sports Centre..

All Judoka are to be presented with an award, as well as several Special Awards to be given out, which include:
Juvenile, Junior & Senior Champion Awards
Judoka's Choice Award
Spirit of Judo
Superstar of the Year

Raffle, disco and food provided....

Boxing Day Dip

   ​After last years Boxing day dip we can't wait to do the same again this year!

We aim to get as many of our Judoka down to Newbiggin beach to join in or even just watch our team have a little dip in the sea to raise funds for our club!

Sponsorship shall be taken leading up until the day of the dip and money handed in after the new year!

We will be taking names for this closer to the time! Don't miss out... it'll be brrrrrilliant!!!!
